Before a first boarding stay, it is easy to wonder whether you have packed everything. It also helps us to know what an ordinary day at home looks like: when your dog eats, how they rest, what they enjoy and what they would rather avoid. Those details give us a starting point when they come to stay at Slapaj.
Familiar food and feeding instructions
Bring your dog’s usual food for the length of the stay. You can divide it into portions beforehand if that is easier for you. Add a short note about meal times, portion sizes and anything we should know at feeding time. A name on the packaging is helpful too, particularly if you are bringing more than one dog.
Let us know about treats as well: what your dog usually has and anything you would prefer us not to offer. You can save feeding instructions in your dog’s profile, so they are there for the next booking too.
Small habits are useful to know
Perhaps a particular word gets your dog ready for a walk, they like to settle somewhere quiet after eating, or they need time to get to know new people. Tell us about those habits. It is just as useful to know what worries them, whether they are uncomfortable around other dogs, or whether calmer individual activities suit them better.
If you would like to bring a blanket, bed or toy from home, let’s agree beforehand on what to pack. You do not need to bring the whole house; we simply want to know which belongings matter most to your dog.
Paperwork and individual care needs
Have your dog’s documents and vaccination record ready, and check the current admission requirements with us. You can also upload the required documents through your account. If anything has changed since the last visit, please let us know and update the profile.
If your dog needs particular care or takes medication, tell us before booking. We will discuss the details and agree on what we can provide. That way, we are all working from the same information when you arrive.
Come and meet us first
Before a longer stay, you can visit to see the place and meet the people who will be looking after your dog. Our one-hour meet-and-greet is free and arranged in advance. If you would also like to try a short time apart, a 2–3-hour settling-in session costs 30 lei in total.
You have time to ask questions, and we can meet your dog and talk about their routine. There is no need to fit everything into one phone call or the few minutes at handover.
Before you leave home
Check the arrival and departure times agreed with us, along with your contact details. If you are running late or your plans change, let us know. And if a question comes up while you are packing, give us a call: we can talk through what your dog will need.
